Liberal Democrats - Winning for Hampshire

Fair deal for kids

10.17.03am GMT Mon 28th Feb 2005

Hampshire Conservatives are letting down local children according to the Liberal Democrats.

Conservative County Councillors recently voted down Lib Dem proposals that would have improved services for young people and given more support to parents most in need of help bringing up their children.

This comes after the reports that there are 150 children in the County who need foster carers - the shortage of carers caused in part by penny-pinching at County Hall. The Conservative-led Council refuses to pay the going rate to support foster carers looking after children.
