More bus cuts are threatened in Hampshire

After cutting 26 bus services all over Hampshire last year, the

County's Conservatives are planning to cut even more buses later this year. A review has made clear that many more buses are to go.

Hampshire's Lib Dem Environment Spokesperson, Cllr Keith House, said: "When they say 'review' the Conservatives mean 'cut'. If they carry on this way there will be no buses left in a few years. Each wave of cuts undermines the viability of another range of bus services by forcing more people each time to give up on public transport and turn to other options such as their car, if they are fortunate enough to have one. The County Council should be fighting to reduce congestion and pollution, not increasing them!"
